Tom Hessel, LEED AP
Tom is a designer in our Sacramento office. Having practiced at both private and design-build firms, Tom brings over ten years of design, project management and CAD management experience to Quadriga. Tom has worked on a variety of projects in the US and abroad, including mixed-use commercial developments, municipal and institutional projects, as well as large-scale and high-end residential developments. While earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Landscape Architecture from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo, Tom spent a semester in Europe with the Extended Field Trip program studying and traveling to historic landscape architectural sites. His travels profoundly shaped and altered his perception of designed public and private spaces.
Tom’s work focuses on ecology, native and drought-tolerant plantings, water resource management, and sustainable design practices to produce site specific interventions. Beyond design, Tom has a passion for education and has lectured and taught landscape design, planting design, CAD, Land F/X and 3D design techniques at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, for the Environmental Horticulture Department. He has also been a featured expert and speaker on LEED design principles for SLO Green Build on sustainable design strategies.
